2 For Dead animals you see on the road
Cleaning up Dead animals on roads is the BBMP’s responsibility. So first thing to try is to call up the BBMP health inspector of that respective Ward and inform them . Follow up to make sure that dead animal is picked up. However the team works only from 6 am to 1 pm and reports after that will be taken up next day. Sometimes it could get delayed beyond that too
If the dead animal is a stray cat or dog, individuals can bury themselves on the median of the road or in your backyard. Burying on road side need access to equipment plus bleaching powder and rock salt ..the pit should be at least 3 -4 feet deep. Rock salt helps in fast decaying and Bleaching powder is a disinfectant. Also helps in hiding the smell so other dogs won’t dig it out.
Some individuals do volunteer to bury dogs who die in accidents. One such person is Mohan Krish of Vanamitra Rescue network. (+919845080903)
For large animals like cows and horses, often there are owners. If the owner is not found, then FIR or complaint should be filed with the local police first.
