What has worked in the last 5 years?
- Varthur Lake finally fenced – after 3 years of citizen struggle 4 acre public land fenced in Ramagondanahalli
- Hoodi Railway Station – completed & inaugurated
- Ward Committees formed in four wards in Mahadevapura AC
- Whitefield Main Road – tarred, good footpaths in place
What has not worked in the last 5 years?
- Growth not matching City Development Plan (CDP) – Blatant Building and land sanctions not matched by infrastructure growth
- Many key roads remain dangerous and unnavigable – R Narayanapura Road, Vibgyor Road, Thubarahalli Road. Instead, a new road is being made where none is required encroaching on lake land (Pattandur Agrahara Lake)
- Most public lands unfenced, thus becoming dumping grounds and ripe for encroachment
- Full fledged Suburban Railway remains a dream
- Residents unable to get enrolled in voter list resulting in serious disenfranchisement
- Rs. 100 Crore Signal Free Corridor (SFC) is a sham
- Dry Waste Collection Center (DWCC) did not even take off, thus Public Private Partnership was unable to progress
- High Court orders being flouted blatantly for garbage management, flex banners for commercial & political advertising, and single use plastic bags by shops
- Blatant violation of NGT Order by the Minor Irrigation Dept (ie Govt) at Varthur Lake in building a major pipeline
- All lakes yet to be fully fenced and rejuvenated with Varthur Lake still a toxic cesspool
- Air Pollution out of control and insufficient availability of mechanised cleaners
- No enforcement of traffic violators resulting in blatant flouting of rules
- BMTC Buses continue to ignore the rules and stop at junctions instead of actual bus stops. Hope Farm and Kundanahalli remain hopeless examples of this problem.
